  • Reading and language arts are essential components of every home education program. You do not have to set exercises for workbooks to help your child develop valuable reading skills. Play crosswords, read joking books, or read family club or night poetic. Publish a word you want your children to learn in the refrigerator every week. Track the frequency of word use in the context and give a reward to the person who uses it frequently.

  • Teaching mathematics is fun and easy when you enhance its value in everyday life. Show your children how to use math in budget, shopping, exercise, or traveling. Building is an excellent way to teach math and engineering. Help your children build a game box or club, or work together on home repairs. Small children can build using Legos or blocks or K'nex.

  • Writing memos, writing letters and scraping up is an excellent activity for budding writers. Frequent writers may want to practice writing jokes or use their computer skills to create a blog or website. Creating a newsletter is a great project for the family. Select different tasks for each child or make the children work as a team. This newsletter will be a record of events and activities your family has enjoyed.

  • Go outdoors to let your children rest from their usual routine. Complete the tasks on the outdoor picnic table and sit under a tree and read my favorite reading aloud. You can walk or ski between the seasons, or dine on a blanket in the backyard. This will not only give your children a boost of fresh air, it will also give them an opportunity to observe nature, that is science!

  • Divide your family into teams and choose a topic for discussion. Help your children explore the subject and make compelling arguments. Your children will learn about current events and history, and develop valuable public speaking skills. Instead of choosing a winner, the two teams rewarded for the good work I did!

Do not forget to play home educational toys such as chess, board games and table games with your children. Adding a night in the game to your weekly routine will provide your family with valuable learning opportunities.
